Position: Law Enforcement Officer

Position Overview: The position overview provides a brief summary and should not be considered exhaustive of all duties. Receives training, and performs a wide variety of police functions including, but not limited to; crime repression, crime prevention, protection of personal liberties, regulation of non-criminal conduct, and provision of services. Enforces city, state, and federal ordinances, and statues, and arrests offenders. Performs first-aid and CPR when required along with animal control and Code Enforcement issues. This is an entry-level position.

Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 19 years of age. Must be a high school graduate or G.E.D equivalent. Must be a citizen of the United States and possess a valid Florida Driver's license. Shall not have been convicted of domestic violence or any felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement. Be a non-user of tobacco products commencing with date of hire. Be fingerprinted by the employing agency and processed by the FDLE, and the FBI. Complete an Affidavit of Application form (CJSTC-68). Have completed police basic recruit training or high liability proficiency (if exempt from basic training) and pass the Florida State certification examination. Comply with training and education requirements.

Upon conditional offer of employment, applicants must pass a police background investigation, physical exam, and drug screening.

Position: Sanitation Driver

Department: Public Works

Hours: Full-time with competitive benefits

Hourly Range: $10.16 - $12.33, DOQ

Closing Date: March 14, 2017

Position Overview: The position overview provides a brief summary and should not be considered exhaustive of all duties. Under general supervision, semi-skilled work in the care and operation of refuse collection vehicles and other trucks/equipment (flatbed truck, specialized trash loading equipment, etc.) used to collect garbage, trash and yard debris from residences and businesses. Work requires heavy manual labor in collection of garbage, trash, and yard debris.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Florida Driver's License. High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Vocational/specialized training in heavy equipment preferred. Must possess knowledge of operation, maintenance, capabilities, limitations and safety aspects of refuse collection vehicle. At least six months experience in sanitation and heavy equipment is preferred. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience may be substituted for requirements.

Licensure: Valid Florida Driver's License, class "B" CDL with air brake endorsement required. Valid Florida Driver's License, class "A" CDL is preferred.
