city hallThe administrative office is responsible for the operation and management of the city. The offices of the Mayor, City Clerk, City Administrator, and Human Resource are located onsite. The administration staff oversees the financial and fiscal affairs of the city. The Administrative Department operates in compliance with all governmental guidelines dictated by the Federal, State, and City of Valparaiso.

Building & PermitsPermits & Licenses

Building & Permits offer assurance that residents' transactions with the City are guided by the rules of law. The Building and Permits link below features a variety of printable permit applications. Applicants must have software such as Adobe Reader® to open and print PDF forms. Applications are still available for pickup at City Hall.

Fire Department

Fire DepartmentThe Valparaiso Volunteer Fire Department is a combination department.  Our firefighters are both part-time and volunteer.  Training nights are every Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 10:00.  We proudly serve the City of Valparaiso and the surrounding communities.  Through dedication, hard work, and training our department has earned a very respectable rating of 4 by the Insurance Service Organization.

Public Library

Public LibraryThe Valparaiso Community Library offers a multitude of services for city residents and Okaloosa County. Patrons can enjoy a collection of diverse materials which include books, eBooks, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, and video games. Technology services include public computers, copier, printer, fax machine, online resources, and wireless network. Police Department

police carOne of our most important goals is to make Valparaiso a safe place for our residents and visitors. Under the direction of the Chief of Police, the Department staff consists of sworn police officers and civilian support personnel. The communications center is manned 24/7/365 by full-time dispatchers. Dispatchers are trained both in Police and Fire call-taking and dispatch.
