Calendar of Events
Our city offers a variety of annual events such as Saturday in the Park, 4th of July Duathlon, Mullet Festival, Christmas Parade, and Yule of Yesteryear to name a few. In 2013, we commemorated the discovery of Florida by Ponce de León 500 years ago. Together with other cities and organizations, we participated in the state wide time capsule project. Heritage Museum
Discover the social and economic histories spanning from 10,000 B.C. to the present. The Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida houses artifacts, textiles, and documents pertaining to local and regional history. In addition to the remarkable artifacts, the museum provides an archival library for research. Visitors can buy souvenirs from the gift shop. Public Library
The Valparaiso Library offers a multitude of materials for residents and visitors. Patrons can enjoy a diverse collection of books, eBooks, audiobooks, digital audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays. Technology services include computers, printer, copier, fax machine, online resources, and wireless network. City Parks
The City of Valparaiso offers some of the most beautiful parks in Okaloosa County. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities from swimming, boating, hiking, or playing sports. Each one of our numerous parks are family-friendly and always well-maintained by our Parks and Recreation Department.
